Pre-Release Pattern Request

We provide early access to our Summer 2019 patterns to allow you to get a head start on your store samples. Once you have knit your shop sample, please remember to login to your wholesale account and click "Contact" to inform us of the completion of your yarn sample so we can apply a credit for the yarn used to your next order.

Use the form below to request patterns featuring our new color, Twilight, as well as additional Shibui Knits yarns. If you do not require access to our prerelease patterns, this is also the place to request images.

SU19 Pre-Release Pattern Request

Sample garments are an excellent way to draw customer attention to a pattern or a yarn. We are happy to provide enough Shibui Knits yarn before launch so you have time to knit garments from our new collection. Pattern and yarn for store samples will be available May 2019, with the exception of the color Twilight, which will ship with your launch order.

Reminder: Please do not share, re-publish, or print the Summer 2019 images below

Akeley, a generously shaped boxy cardigan, is worked flat from the bottom up with one strand of Reed and one strand of Twig held together throughout. Akeley is knit in three pieces: the back and fronts are worked even to the underarm, then increased to form the curve of the underarm. Stitches are cast on for the sleeves, which are shaped with short rows, and are worked simultaneously with the back and fronts. The pieces are seamed at the shoulders with 3-Needle Bind-Off, the side seams are sewn together with mattress stitch, and finally, the back neck is finished with a narrow trim.
Earhart is a seamless asymmetrical triangle scarf or wrap featuring two sideways-knit sections worked from the middle out. The first section begins with a Crochet Provisional Cast-On and is knit using one strand of Reed. The second section is worked outward from the live stitches remaining after the provisional cast-on has been removed, using one strand of Lunar held together with one strand of Reed.
Goodall, worked with one strand of Cima and one strand of Reed held together, features a sloped hem and swingy A-line shape. The front has slimming slip-stitch lines that extend diagonally from underarms to hem. Goodall is cast on at the bottom, shaped with short rows at the hem, knit in the round to the armholes, then knit flat to the shoulders and seamed. There are two armhole options: a sleeveless shell or above-elbow sleeves for the tee. Sleeves are knit flat, then set in and seamed. The neck is finished with an I-Cord edge in doubled Cima.
Ride is an A-line pullover with short-sleeved Tee and Shell versions, worked with one strand of Cima and Twig held together. Both versions have an asymmetrical hem and front neck. Ride is cast on at the bottom, shaped with short rows at the hem, knit in the round to the armholes, then knit flat to the shoulders and seamed. The front neck shaping continues the asymmetrical theme. For the Tee, above-elbow-length sleeves are worked flat from the cuff up, then set in and seamed.
Wanderwell is an exciting accessory that will dress up any outfit. Wanderwell is worked with Lunar and Vine held together, knit from the bottom point of each collar section, which are shaped with short rows. Then the sections are joined in the round for the neck band, and the piece is finished with a fold-over hem.
If you are knitting more than one SU19 sample, let us know which color(s) you are using for which sample so we can send you enough yarn. Also, if you selected "Other Color" for a pattern above, please indicate your first and second choices of Shibui colors.
